Your City, Your Workplace, Your Vote

Winnipeg Municipal Election 2026

Winnipeg voters head to the polls on Wednesday, October 28, with significant changes expected at City Hall as five sitting councillors are not seeking re-election.

For WAPSO members, municipal elections are particularly important. Decisions made by City Council directly affect not only the services Winnipeg residents rely on, but also the wages, working conditions, collective bargaining and workplace environment of City employees.

The Winnipeg Labour Council (WLC) has released its list of labour-endorsed candidates for the upcoming election. We encourage members to review the candidates and their platforms, consider the issues that matter to them, and make an informed choice at the ballot box.

Members interested in volunteering with a campaign or connecting with other WAPSO members who wish to participate can contact kbellamy@wapso.ca.

Advance voting is now open through October 23, with voting locations available across the city. Visit the City of Winnipeg's election website for locations and hours.

Your vote matters, at home AND at work. Make your voice heard on or before October 28.
